flat earth

perspective

Honestly, I don’t give two shits what shape the fucking earth is, as at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. However, the only thing I can go by is perspective. I don’t feel like hurling through space at over 400,000 miles per hour. I can sense the movement when I’m on a plane, train, car, merry-go-round, or boat, so why do I feel stationary and not spinning around when I stand in place? This is the same as the adage: If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound? For me, the answer is no, as sound only exists if it’s perceived by the individual who’s near the place where the tree fell.

In third or fourth grade, part of the programming was to study the Columbus narrative. At that time, part of Columbus’s bullshit was how he set out to discover that the earth was a ball. I questioned the story and asked how sailing from Spain to Jamaica proved that the earth was a ball. I got sent out in the hall, which wasn’t pleasant as my mom was a teacher and walked by as I sat with my back against the wall.
