i love the night

.

the meaning

One song that has always resonated with me over the years is “I Love the Night” by  Blue Oyster Cult, written by Donald “Buck Dharma” Rosener. I always thought that it was about a relationship gone bad until I realized with a name like Buck Dharma, it had to be more esoteric than that; that’s when it hit me to use numerology to come up with a solution for my dilemma.

Birthday

When I decode a person, I like to start with their birthday, as it can reveal a lot. Buck’s birthday is November 12, 1947. When I saw this, I about fell off my chair, suddenly seeing a resemblance. For one, Buck is a Scorpio, as am I. Scorpios are attracted to the occult; this explains two things: the name of the band and the reason behind his nickname, “Dharma.” If you are unaware of what “Dharma” is, it’s simply “Universal Law or Harmony.” Which could also be a double entrada that relates to music. The second thing I notice is the day he was born, the 12th, which could relate to the 12 signs of the zodiac, thus also relating to “Dharma.” Then the year he was born, 47 using the periodic table, which would be Silver. The unit number for Silver is 11, which means adding 4+7 = 11, which comes back to November, the 11th month. Silver is also the most conductive element, which could explain why he plays a white electric guitar resembling the moon’s surface, although some may argue that it’s Swiss Chees. However, the moon is related to Swiss cheese, as it’s been said it’s made of Swiss cheese. The moon also represents Silver, which could be a metaphor for the “lady in white,” as the moon represents the feminine, as does the night, as Sophia, the said creator of the universe, is dark, as is the earth, is dark, the earth needs the sun, or the light, for us to see. The earth is also feminine, as it births life.

Breakdown

If you look online, you can see how others interpret this song, which ranges from a love relationship to vampires. However, I am confident it’s much deeper than that. Several lines in the song confirm a symbiotic relationship between Sophia and Lucifer. Sophia being the Dark, and Lucifer the light. Hence, I love the night (dark, Sophia), the day is okay, and the sun can be fun (Lucifer, as we have fun in the light/sun) but I love to see those rays slip away. Now, here’s the part that most think it’s a vampire. “No mortal was meant to see such wonder. One look in the mirror told me so Come darkness, I’ll see her again. Yes, I’m gonna go ’cause now I know.”  Meaning a vampire can’t see their reflection. However, you can’t see your reflection without light, Lucifer. For me, the meaning of this song is about the battle between the light and the dark, good and evil. The light is the curse, as you come from the Dark (womb) into the light, thus the reason why babies cry when they enter the light, have fun, and return to the Dark at death.
