gaslighting
Origin
The term gaslighting became a new buzzword that coincided with the narcissism movement/psyop. Like its narcissistic counterpart, it is tossed around more than a baseball at a Yankees game. The term originated from a 1944 movie called Gaslight, starring Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman.
the storyline
Charles Boyer’s character manipulates Ingrid’s character by “gaslighting” her into believing she is crazy, essentially lying to her by turning off lights and swearing they weren’t on, etc.
Lying 2.0
All the (so-called) “experts” that push the narcissism/gaslighting narrative gaslight you into believing that gaslighting isn’t lying, that it goes much deeper; however, this by itself is gaslighting, as any manipulation by utilizing a lie, is a lie, thus, gaslighting you into believing that gaslighting isn’t lying. However, anything untrue is a lie; gaslighting has become lying 2.0. How fucked up is that, folks? It’s time to wake up and stop listening to these (so-called) experts and develop a decernment.
