These lyrics are interesting, as if Peter is struggling with his alter ego, or perhaps even himself, as it’s common knowledge that he struggles with ADHD, hence their song VitiminR, R is Ritalin; thus the line “Feeling manic for a day, Depends on the trend, Depends on the surface, If the sun never sets.” This is the constant feeling of not knowing if you’re coming or going, as it’s a continuous struggle to stay focused and the frustration of sleep paralysis.
So, with that constant struggle, he wants to put it all in a jar. However, this could also be a double entendre as there is something called the jar theory, meaning the DNA from every living thing has been put into test tubes and stored underground. After the earth has been destroyed, it can be regenerated with the DNA in the jars.
